Sacramento's St. Patrick's Day 2009 may have been the biggest ever due largely in part to the efforts put forth by Mason's new lounge, Mix and the new Irish Pub located directly below, Devere's. The first group of people seen in the first photo to the right flew in from various cities including Detroit and Minneapolis. When asked what brought them to Sacramento, they had one answer, "St. Patrick's Day."
Who knew that Sacramento had that kind of draw. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have Tahoe and San Francisco 90 miles to the east and west respectively.
The day's festivities started early with Mason's new Mix and Devere's Irish Pub located directly below opening the gates to their Saint Patrick's Day Block Party before noon.
After 1, the cover was bumped from free to $20, which only included a no in-and-out wrist band and no swag or drinks.
Several thousand locals and not-so-locals made their way thru the gates all day with the 'morning' group fading out by mid afternoon and a new crowd arriving around 4 p.m.
For those of you who have yet to check out either of these new venues, they are definitely worth a visit and have completely different vibes. One a pub, the other an ultra lounge with a relaxing outside patio and fire pit.
