DJ Z*Trip Playing The Park Ultra Lounge on January 24

Born Zach Sciacca, DJ Ztrip played Sacramento in 2005 at Harlows. Sacvibe got a call from a promoter/friend in Tahoe. “Hey, we’re coming to Sacramento for ZTrip at Harlows, can you meet up?” Not really knowing who this Ztrip was, but trusting the judgement of the promoter (2008 X Games hostess), we made tracks and hooked up for what has gone down in Sacvibe history as one of the most memorable DJ sets ever experienced right up there with Grand Master Flash, The Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold and Mix Master Mike.

ZTrip’s epic sets often include a live drummer, a super sik VJ; his visuals are probably the best in the industry. He’s the only artist licensed to remix Nirvana which he did for EA’s Skate video game to the rare track “Lounge Act” which cannot be found anywhere online except here. He opened for The Stones in Canada (450,000 fans), played with Beck at Coachella, did a track for a Nike/iPod commercial, opened for The Roots, played Bonaroo twice (70,000 fans), produced the sound-track for 2K Sports All-Pro Football, worked with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington on his debut “Walking Dead,” and now you too can see what all the hype is about.

Known as the master of the mashup, fans can expect to hear music ranging the widest spectrum in the DJ industry from Sesame Street to Rush and over into Hip Hop, Motown and even classical. The last Z Trip show Sacvibe caught was just about a year ago at Harlows in Sacramento. The tour manager asked us not to run any video of the performance, so all we can show you is this.
