ESPN X Games 12 2008 Interview with Lauren Abraham
A “PodVibe Network” Exclusive for Sacvibe.com
Feb 3, 2008
Ever wonder how you get to be a top ranked host at something like the ESPN X Games? Lauren Abraham is gonna tell you, and it’s a lot more than just a pretty face. Last summer, she spent months in acting classes in Hollywood. Before that, she worked with Warren Miller Entertainment, and a slew of other shows interviewing some of the best riders in the world.
But it wasn’t an overnight success story. When Abraham was a teenager, she competed on the Jr. Olympic Ski Team, was ranked 5th in the world in Board Cross, then got into a major snowboard accident where she broke both her ankles, her entire right-side rib cage and her nose. A blessing in disguise? She kept attending events, and eventually somebody took notice and gave her a microphone. After that, everybody took notice and she basically became the unofficial “Queen of Tahoe.”
Last year, Muscle & Fitness did a centerfold shoot with her, and this year, she was tapped by ESPN to be a host (pictured left with microphone). We caught up with her at South Lake Tahoe where she spoke to us over the phone from her home. ![]()
