Yes it was hot, all the more reason to attend the 9th annual West Coast Brew Festival.
With local temperatures reaching 100 degrees, one this weekend, there’s one outdoor event that will be sure to keep your sweat in check; The 9th Annual West Coast Brew Festival. Held every year at Miller Park, this event features live music, BBQ, cigars and vendors and lot’s of beer. We’re talking around 300 kegs and there are NO TOKENS! So get your bicycle out and take a ride to the Sacramento River down old Broadway and enjoy the good vibrations.

Sacramento will surely pack local venues for Cinco de Mayo tonight, but the best spot is Centro’s outdoor party. No other venue comes close to kicking down a fiesta vibe like this one. The aroma of carnitas and corn tortillas on comales mixed with the sounds of salsa and the scent of Tequila in the air make this spacious gathering a favorite. Nightclubs will of course be running specials on drinks and waving the Red, White and Green - but if you really want to experience a Cinco de Mayo party, this is the one.

Number One WEC Featherweight Champ Defends Title June 1 at ARCO Arena: tixMost fighters didn’t go to college let alone become NCAA champs; Urija Faber is not most fighters. Graduating from UC Davis where he was an NCAA national championship wrestler, Faber went on to open Ultimate Fitness in downtown Sacramento; a gym dedicated to teaching and training fight techniques including boxing, Jiu Jistsu and Mixed Martial Arts. The first gig we did with HardNox was an informal tour around Lake Tahoe in the summer of 2004. When all was said and done, they got booked at MontBleu’s showroom where they opened for E 40, and the nightclub, Blu. Before that, they performed at Squaw Valley’s only nightclub, ZenBu where local ladies went nuts on the dance floor for tunes like “White Girl Who Can Dance.” Eventually, they became a regular with DJ Slick D on New Year’s Eve at Hard Rock on Stateline.
